I’m the Creative Director for this game, as well as Art Direction and UI/UX (design + implementation).

I won’t lie...all of my best practices have gone out the window in favor of being fast, lean, efficient, etc. Also, I’d only be handing off work to myself, for now. Is it scalable? No. Is it how I prefer to work? No. Would it work on a bigger team? Not even a little.

But there’s positive too. One of the best things about PlinkIdle has been the community involvement. Players doing Early Access and in our demo have given wonderful feedback. When I hear things like:

  • “I didn’t know I could hold the buttons down.”
  • “I got stuck on the wheel spin.”
  • “I don’t understand what those buttons do.”

I can react quickly and autonomously to address UX and flow feedback with our engineer.
